Open your eyes!

This class was focused on something that i feel the absolute key to design, creativity. This class makes us "open our eyes" to design all around us and understand the bigger, and the smaller, details in our life. The idea that you can LOOK at something yet not fully SEE it is an extremely important idea. I fully believe that this is the case in nearly every aspect of. A clear example is when you notice a design flaw in a product. You become focused on that flaw and then completely ignore all the possible genius parts of the design, I believe this is because it is often taken for granted.

Creativity can be seen in absolutely every aspect of life, from the ingenuity of new technological advances, to the incredible creativity of something as simple as toaster. We were asked whether we thought we ourselves were creative. You might say, well you'd have to be creative to be doing this course, but I would disagree with this. Creativity is a skill just like any other, it can be taught and improved upon just like anything else. To say someone is not creative is an extremely definitive statement. Of course some people are much more creative than others, but I fully think that everyone at least has some essence of creativity inside them, whether it be something like storytelling or even just someone who doodles when they're bored, creativity is everywhere and every individual is creative.

Along with this belief that everyone is creative, it means that everyone can develop their creativity. Creativity is a skill, it can be used differently and improved upon which teaching and practice. As well as that, there are an incredible variety of types of creativity. Creativity in design and art like in our course, but you can be extremely creative i your writing and many other aspects of life. It is extremely arrogant to think that someone can be creative, whether they have to be taught or not, everyone is creative and creativity is everywhere round us in the world.
